Creative Intersections

This event, running in conjunction with the 3rd annual gender and sexualities postgraduate conference, intersections 2016, is a chance for local performers whose work intersects with gender and sexuality to gather and share their work in a creative, inclusive and safe space.

The event will feature performances by Dr Quinn Eades, a researcher, writer and poet whose work lies at the nexus of feminist and queer theories of the body, autobiography, and philosophy, in addition to local writers, poets and music acts. There will also be open mic opportunities. We hope everyone will be inspired!

Creative Intersections aims to foster connections between emerging writers and academics, and generate community awareness and discussion of issues relating to gender and sexuality. Moreover, the event aims to promote creative writing, memoir, poetry and performance as alternative ways of engaging with and exploring issues relating to gender and sexuality and thus create dialogue between the academic, creative and personal worlds.
